Tony Rojas had really just one question about him as he left Fairfax (Va.) High School for Penn State in January, and he answered it immediately. One of the fastest linebackers in the nation, Rojas was tasked with bulking up his 205-pound frame and promptly added 20 good pounds working under Chuck Losey and the Lions’ strength and conditioning staff.
By bulking up and keeping the speed that makes him unique, Rojas emerged this spring as a likely impact freshman in Year 1. He doesn’t necessarily have to be a starter for the Lions to make his presence felt, which he could do on special teams, sub packages, or any other role defensive coordinator Manny Diaz can dream up for him. Rojas is the real deal.
