A tribute to the work of architect Oscar Niemeyer and designed by architect, Massimo Iosa Ghini f Iosa Ghini Associati, Brasilia is a sculptural radiator for Caleido that perfectly harmonizes decoration and function.
“More than not just a product, this is a piece of architecture, a sculpture by virtue of its ongoing dialogue with light, which describes its alternating extruded aluminum profiles in an interplay of light and shade.”
This is Brasilia, the new Caleido design radiator, as described by the architect who designed it, Massimo Iosa Ghini.
Brasilia has recently been awarded a 2023 Green Good Design Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.
Caleido has been one of the international ambassadors of excellence made in Italy since 1993, thanks to radiators designed to play a leading role in the architectural space around them.
Sculptural graphism is the hallmark of Caleido’s state‐of‐the‐art radiators.
The partnership with Massimo Iosa Ghini has given life to Brasilia: a tribute to the work of Niemeyer, whose building reflects the use of dynamic shapes and curves so sensual as to encourage many of his admirers to liken him to a sculptor rather than an architect.
Iosa Ghini’s stylistic hallmark is also expressed through the sculptural graphism that characterizes this work.
Made almost entirely of aluminum, making it recyclable at the end of its life, Brasilia features an open bar towel holder accessory, and a vertical hanging hook, available in single and double versions.
This feature makes this radiator a multifunctional complement and creates a perfect symbiosis between decoration and function, enhancing the space and environment in which it is installed.
Two basic elements, in four different lengths, can be combined to create a variety of configurations that place the heat energy at the heart of the aesthetic composition.
In particular, the numerous Brasilia versions, all of which feature a large number of tight-fitting plates, include Brasilia Wide, which enhances the aesthetic score with the addition of a large multifunctional element.
In each plastic rendering, the heat output enters into an efficient functional relationship with the aesthetic composition. How?
The curves and attachments form a modular structure with a strong upward thrust, generating a ‘chimney effect’ that stimulates the circulation of hot air, maximizing the already extremely effective performance thanks to the choice of aluminum and the size of the surfaces.
